PHILBEX 2023 IN DAVAO CITY

DAVAO CITY, Davao

Philippine Building and Construction Expo (PHILBEX) and Travel and Leisure Expo (TLEX) finally returned to Davao City on May 11 at the SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang, offering various opportunities in Davao Region, specifically for the construction and travel sectors.

DOT XI Regional Director Tanya Rabat Tan emphasized in her speech how Davao Region has successfully hosted several significant national and regional events in the first four months of the year, showing that Davao has finally recovered from the pandemic.

Other officials who attended the expo opening included Presidential Adviser for Eastern Mindanao Leo Tereso Abellera Magno, Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Director Juby B. Cordon, Department of Trade and Industry Assistant Regional Director Romeo L. Castanaga, Davao City Vice Mayor Atty J Melchor B. Quitain Jr., and Davao City Tourism Office-in-Charge Jennifer Romero.

The expo is open to the public until May 14, so do visit PHILBEX and TLEX now!

"FOR THE COCONUT FARMERS OF DAV. OR. " - KLYZA CASTRO

Miss Universe Philippines 2023- Davao Oriental Klyza Castro showcasing the coconut industry of Davao Oriental in her national costume “The Tree of Life”.

The coconut industry is one of Davao Oriental’s biggest agricultural livelihoods, with almost three hundred thousand coconut farmers. It is called the “Tree of Life” because every single part can be used to sustain human life.

Back in 2012, typhoon Pablo damaged over six million coconut trees in Davao Oriental. With my national costume, I am so proud of how Davao Oriental has revived our coconut industry and turned it into what it has become today. As a livelihood advocate, I wish to promote the livelihood of coconut farmers of Davao Oriental and all over the Philippines.
